Richard J. Bryan
Richard Bryan graduated from The Citadel in 1931. A resident of Johns Island near Charleston, he studied under Alfred Hutty and Emma Gilchrist. He also studied painting at the Kansas City Art Institute. He exhibited at the Third Annual Exhibition by Artist Members of the Carolina Art Association where he was awarded the Waring Memorial Award for best landscape in 1939.
