John McCrady
Born in 1911, John McCrady was a New Orleans artist. He studied at the University of Mississippi and at the Art Students League in New York. He exibited widely in organizations such as the Art Institute of Chicago, Corcoran Gallery, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, & Southern States Art League, among others. His work is well represented in museums such as the High Museum of Art, Newark Museum of Art, and the New Orleans Museum of Art as well as corporations including IBM and the U.S. Treasury Department. Primarily a regionalist painter, McCrady was also an author & illustrator. He died in 1968.
